Lunatic Fringe Salon in Liberty Township, Ohio Honored with 2014 YWCA Women of the Year Award
Each year the YWCA honors local women who positively impact the lives of its residents. This year the YMCA recognizes the Lunatic Fringe Salon Team in West Chester/Liberty Township, Ohio, with its 2014 YMCA Women of the Year award for its time and commitment to our program and our residents.
In September, Lunatic Fringe Salon celebrated its 3rd year of business. Located at the corner of Cincinnati Dayton and Yankee Roads, the salon is able to not only service guests from the greater Butler County area guests, but also able to fulfill the Lunatic Fringe culture of giving back to local philanthropic agencies. Most specifically, the salon provides free hair services to the residents of the YWCA Hamilton and The One-Way Farm Children’s home in Fairfield.
“At Lunatic Fringe, our culture is based on our values, and we value giving back,” said Lunatic Fringe franchise owner Lisa Gear, who is also a resident of Liberty Township. “Our team is committed to supporting our local communities, and doing good deeds. We are proud to support the communities that so graciously support us!”
“The spirit of giving back is a natural extension of the culture of the salon and that culture is extended to ALL guests, whether they are paying for their services or not, “ she continued. “Everyone deserves the confidence that comes from looking their best.”
“We are a “no gossip” salon – we don’t even carry celebrity magazines!” Gear explained. “It’s very important to us that from the moment our guests walk in the door to when their services are completed that the energy is positive and welcoming. Our exclusive “Lather Lounge” is a tranquil space with soft lighting and relaxing music. Conversations and background music on the salon floor are always positive and upbeat.”
“I truly believe that we are not in the beauty business, but in the “feel good” business. Confidence and self-esteem is what we believe in and we build that aspect into our everyday business model. We are so honored in receiving this award!”
The awards ceremony was held on October 28th at the Wetherington Country Club in West Chester.
